Thank a Real Person this Thanksgiving |
Thanksgiving is coming up in a few days and families will gather around their thanksgiving meal to offer thanks. The meal traditionally begins with a prayer thanking God for all his blessings and then the feasting begins. But, what if this year we did away with thanking the invisible unknowable god in the sky and tried something new.
What if this Thanksgiving we thanked a real person in our life. What if we took a moment to acknowledge the people in our life who have blessed us this past year. What if we thanked our parents, siblings, in-laws, neighbors and friends for their love and their support. Or what if we thanked those in the medical field who are working hard to help us stay healthy, or the teachers who are educating our children, or the sanitation worker who takes away our trash, or the clerk who helps us get our car licenses plate... the list could go on and on.
The point is to make an effort this Thanksgiving to thank a real person not an imaginary one. And even if you insist on thanking some deity for their supernatural blessings in your life at least be willing to extend your "thanks" to the real people in your life...I'm sure they will appreciate it.
